At a glance
Dreamcraft Ventures LLC operates Checkpoint. This policy covers the iPhone app and this webpage. Three things to know:
- Your check-in photos and notes stay in the app on your iPhone. We do not upload them for analysis.
- Apple device backups may include your check-ins if you use iCloud Backup or back up to a computer.
- Apple and RevenueCat handle information about Plus purchases.
Your check-ins
Checkpoint saves the photos you take or select, the check-in date, and any note you write. These stay in the app's private storage on your iPhone. The app uses them to show your timeline, compare check-ins, and make share cards.
Checkpoint also saves your reminder settings, app-lock choice, and the number of free check-ins you have used. You do not need an account. Checkpoint does not upload your photos or notes for body analysis, AI processing, or advertising.
Backups and sync
iOS normally includes saved app data in device backups. If you turn on iCloud Backup or back up to a computer, Apple may include your Checkpoint photos, notes, and check-in details. You control those backups through Apple.
This is different from syncing in the app. Checkpoint does not currently sync check-ins between devices.
Permissions and sharing
These features use iPhone permissions or Apple's photo picker when you choose them:
- Camera: to take photos.
- Photos: Apple's picker lets you choose pictures to import. We ask to add photos to your library only when you save or export copies there.
- Notifications: for the reminders you turn on.
- Face ID or passcode: if you turn on the app lock. Your iPhone checks it; Checkpoint does not receive your face data or passcode.
You can change permissions in iPhone Settings. You can turn off reminders and the app lock in Checkpoint Settings.
Share cards are made on your iPhone. They leave the app only when you choose a destination in the iOS share sheet. That destination handles the copy you send.
You can also export check-in photos to your Photos library; the originals stay in Checkpoint. Apple's iCloud Photos may sync exported copies if you have it on. Temporary share files are removed when the share sheet closes. Older abandoned files are cleared during a later export.
Plus purchases
Apple handles payments for Plus. Checkpoint uses RevenueCat to show the offer, check Plus access, and handle purchases and restores. RevenueCat creates an anonymous app ID. It receives purchase and receipt information, plus basic app and device details. We use this for Plus access and purchase analytics.
Checkpoint does not send your photos or notes to RevenueCat. Neither Checkpoint nor RevenueCat receives your full payment card details from the app.
Read RevenueCat's privacy policy for how it handles that data.
Deleting your data
Your check-ins stay in the app until you delete them. You can delete one check-in, or open Settings → Photos and data → Delete everything to remove all saved check-in photos, notes, and dates from the app on that iPhone. This does not reset the count of free check-ins you have used.
Deleting check-ins does not remove photos you exported to Photos, copies in an Apple backup, or purchase records held by Apple and RevenueCat. Uninstalling the app removes its current storage from your iPhone, but backups may still contain copies. Apple controls backup retention; RevenueCat keeps purchase records under its own rules. Contact us if you have a question or request about purchase data.
Security and contact
iOS keeps Checkpoint's app storage private, and saved photo files use your iPhone's file protection. You can also turn on an app lock that uses Face ID or your passcode.
We do not add analytics or advertising trackers to this webpage. Vercel hosts it and receives standard request information, such as your IP address and browser details, to deliver the page.
